Come join the Boomer Bunch for a leisurely day to end the week. Friday, July 30 we will depart from the Isle of Capri landing at 10:20 a.m. aboard the Channel Cat Water Taxi for a short cruise across the river to the landing at Friday's in Moline arriving at 11:00. NOTE: if our group is too large or the water taxi is full, some may have to wait for the 10:50 taxi which arrives in Moline at 11:25. You will not be late for lunch!
We will have a leisurely lunch at Friday's. When we are finished we can all stroll the two blocks to Lagomarcino's for some delectable ice cream or candy treats, then return to the Friday's Landing for departure to Bettendorf on the Channel Cat. You are free to enjoy the John Deere Commons area for shopping or sightseeing or continue the water excursion.
Tickets for the water taxi are $6 for all day and you get them as you board. Please sign up at the Welcome Center so we know how many are coming. For questions, contact Mike & Audrey at (563) 209-0358.

Invite your friends! Movies are The Sorcerer's Apprentice and The Last Airbender. Movies start at sunset at the 61 Drive-In in Maquoketa. Tentative plans are to meet at BCC and drive to the drive-in at 6 p.m. so we can get there and get our group's spots together. Parents: if you're interested in going and driving, please talk to Bryan.

CPR / First Aid Training for Children's Ministry Volunteers

Children's ministry volunteers have priority for the class, then other members of BCC will be able to sign up for the class

Please save the date on your calendar to attend one of the two CPR/First Aid training classes. These classes are for basic training, not recertification purposes and everyone that serves in the children’s ministry is invited and strongly encouraged to attend. There is a limit of 25 people who will be able to attend each training and more trainings will be scheduled later in the year. Once all of the children’s ministry volunteers have been through the training, we will be offering the class for other members of the congregation as well. Sign-ups will begin August 1 and a $3.00 donation to cover the cost of the books is requested. Baby Boomers head to Tall Ships Chicago

We will depart BCC at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, August 27 for a great bus tour to Navy Pier in Chicago and return by 8:30 p.m. Getting there and back will be half the fun! You will see 20 old and modern sailing vessels and tour them as you choose. Navy Pier also has great fun things to do! There are 10 different restaurants, ride the Giant Ferris Wheel, see the lake front from a huge tethered hot air balloon, ride the musical carousel, or see the amazing Cirque Shanghai Acrobat show!
